          GREAT NEWS  -  WE WILL BE RACING AT GINGERMAN!! Call your friends and come out for a fun day at the track.  Lapping, driving school, and racing will be available  -  something for everyone. GINGERMAN FORMULA STREET SERIES  -  RACE 1               AUGUST 15, 2009                                -  RACE 2                 SEPTEMBER 12, 2009                                -  RACE 3                 OCTOBER 10, 2009 All events are at GingerMan Raceway, South Haven, MI                                GingerMan Raceway has agreed to work with us in presenting some events this year.  They are scheduling some open track practice days and allowing SATCAR to have a race group within the day.  They had some open weekends so we have scheduled these events on Saturdays.  GingerMan will be providing the track along with flagging and ambulance services.  SATCAR does not have to pay a track rental fee but we do have to pay a per car fee and the cost of extra insurance for a competitive event.  The open tracking will be hosted by GingerMan Raceway and there will probably be drivers there to practice or tune.  SATCAR will be hosting and managing the racing and driving school activities. The daily schedule has yet to be determined, but will probably include a practice session in the morning, a qualifying session around lunch time, and a race in mid to late afternoon.  I am hoping to make the race 25 to 30 laps, depending upon the time window we have available.  The minimum track time you should get will be about two hours.  It may be more. We are also planning to schedule driving school sessions for those drivers who have not yet qualified for a SATCAR Competition License.  Drivers can work toward a Competition License to be able to race with SATCAR.  Last year we had a new driver who finished his driving school requirement on Saturday at Road America, entered the race on Sunday, and placed Second.  Great job!!! The cost for the SATCAR race group will be $ 200 per driver.  This entry fee is all-inclusive and includes the following:·          Entry into the SATCAR race group·          Transponder with mounting bracket and adhesive vinyl (For those who do not own one)·          Car numbers (For cars that do not have them)·          Timing of all track sessions·          Lap time printouts for each driver for all sessions Entry into the lapping or driving school activities is $ 150 per driver and does not normally include a transponder, numbers, or timing.  If a driver would like those options, the extra cost is $ 50.  Entry forms for the SATCAR activities are at the SATCAR web site:  www.satcarracing.com.                                                                                                                                                                    (OVER)       There will be no awards given at these events, nor will there be any championship awards at the end of the series.  However, if you desire, we can keep a points tally, using the same points system as last year, and we can name those drivers who have done well in the series.  Bragging rights, you know! We request that you pre-register so we can get numbers and transponders assigned and get all relevant driver and car data entered into the computer prior to the event.  Entry forms are on the SATCAR web site or we can mail you a paper copy.  You will also have to get the Safety Inspection Form completed and bring it to the first event you attend.  Note that our helmet requirement has changed to Snell 2000.  This is parallel to the requirement of GingerMan Raceway. NOW is the time to show your support of the SATCAR and the racing program.  GingerMan management has indicated that if we do not have an adequate number of cars that show for the first event, they will not schedule the later events.  Also, if we do not get enough entries to cover our direct costs, we will cancel the event(s) and we do not want to do that.  It is important to those of you who want to race that we keep building this racing program and exposing it to drivers who have not tried it. Mark these dates on your calendar and file your entries NOW!!  Our race run group will be limited to 19 cars, so register early to be assured of your place on the grid. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact: Kern Fischer, SATCAR Founder & CEO                         Wayne Seely, SATCAR Operations DirectorPhone:  630-232-6063                                                       Phone:  815-331-0404E-mail:  kern@satcarracing.com                                     E-mail:  wayne@satcarracing.com
